Welcome to the Clear Skies game jam! This is my first attempt at anything like this but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time so I hope we all enjoy ourselves! So… what’s this game jam actually about you might be thinking. Well I’m a huge fan of steampunk and solarpunk aesthetics, but I noticed two major issues as time has gone on; firstly so much steampunk stuff gets so depressing! So much smog and grime and sadness; I miss the bright wonderful world of movies like Treasure Planet! The other major issue is the absolute torrent of AI slop being churned out. So this is my own lil attempt to see some bright sunny skies brought back to the world!

RULES!

• Solar / Steampunk: As long as your game is stylized around the wonderful world of steam and brass and clean sunny energy, you’re good! Feel free to check these links for some inspirations [Steampunk Aestetics] [Solarpunk Aestetics]
• 30 days to bring your world to life, from the 11th of April till the 11th of May
• No team limit! You can solo this adventure or bring as many friends as you like!
• Unfortunately I’m monolingual so please keep your games in English!
• NO AI
• Use of publicly available premade assets (e.g. anything in creative commons) is A-OK
• And to keep things fair, hopefully a majority of what you make is done within the month time limit but if you’re dusting off things you already had kicking around that’s ok! Just make sure you tell us so we know how to fairly rate ya <3
• Must include the tag 'ClearSkies25' so we can find you!
• Most importantly, have fun!
• Fun is mandatory.

SCORING!

• Theme: How well does your game adhere to the solarpunk / steampunk ideals? I better not see a single drop of crude.
• Fun: How much fun did we have while playing your game? As Reggie once said “If it’s not fun, why bother?”
• Visuals: How good does it look? Will my lil vtuber eyes be wide in awe?
• Audio: How good does it sound? Was there a banging sound track? Or perhaps a really satisfying bonk.mp3
• Crew rating: How does the crew feel? Being a skypirate I have to check in with my crew otherwise there’ll be mutiny abound.
